This historical novel revolves around Captain John Mackra. The novel follows certain adventures that happened to Captain John Mackra in connection with the famous pirate Edward England in the year 1720 off the Island of Juanna in the Mozambique Channel. It also describes how Mr. Evans, the East India Company's agent, hands Captain John Mackra two packets, one addressed to himself and the other to Benjamin Longways, the Company's agent at Juanna. Mr. Evans informs Captain John Mackra that the Company has a matter of exceeding importance and delicacy to be transferred to the king of Juanna and that the packet will involve the transfer of many thousand pounds.
